A vintage piece of furniture with added knit... Art

Vintage Crochet Art

This little vintage unit the type that used to hold the Royal plates and such is now the proud display unit for my art space.

Not Royal plates in sight.

Costing a whooping £25!!!! yes Twenty five pounds (What a bargain)

The wall paper had seen better days but the actual unit completely intact the glass shelves and front no damage. A missing key but no big deal apparently that can be replaced I just need to find such a shop;-)

I replaced , well I actually added it on top of the wallpaper, just in case it's a heritage piece. Adding a little of my art, I mean canvas can be a wall covering?

Pretty Impressive;-0

Art in it's early stage the fourth part to the Dark arts.......... Well that's what my daughter called it;-)

WE LOOK BUT WE DON'T SEE

I think Rich read me this caption form Sherlock Holmes, that fact has nothing to do with my art, I just liked the saying. It fits

Funkying it up with crochet

Funkying it up with crochet.........................

Take £1 ikea clock, pretty boring but it was £1 or £10, I wanted something funky or modern for my art room (as boy does time fly) But at a £9 difference modern verses cheap, honesty the £1 one won.

Personally I'm sick of generic, everyone has the same Ikea (I have to admit) has its cool designer pieces, but the trouble is everyone you know, will have one.........
which is fine if your a student/follower or broke........

So I decided to vamp it up,
a selection of yarns, a good mix.

This was a basic chain , I think its on 12 hook so thick and fast but I'm not quiet sure even though it was only a week ago I made it, my memory.

At the moment it just resting on the clock frame, the plan was to glue it but seeing
it sat fine as the sayings goes "if it's not broke ,don't fix it".

Selection of yarn.

Basic ladder crochet, a chain.

My ends I will add buttons, so nothing to stitch in.

Art room its now a working feature.

Is my blog post just a little bit Vague?

I think that it is........

New art that now needs the white acrylic to make the canvas, I am trying to re-create a large canvas and then I will add the letters as if a painting. That's my plan, but its pretty big scale so I will see how this pans out.

I think that I should first make a frame? (or find a man that can) I can then stretch the knitting canvas onto the frame?(as if canvas)

Maybe investing in a knit machine would be a good plan as I need a massive amount of stitches........

Quickly! (any ideas)

Proud Letters, they are made from doubled acrylic so they could possibly stand alone!!

Well almost, a tad of an exaggeration;-)

Rasmus hopefully on the mend...........

I think like a small child he thinks that if you cant see his face, that you can not see his huge body.
